Description
Fraternal Echoes is a sonic performance piece about (mis)communication and its in-betweens. In an attempt to bridge the gap between different sound languages, the performers shape a soundscape with 2 experimental instruments inspired by feedback loops and the unpredictability of human and electronic bodies. The piece unfolds as a continuous search for connection through an active exploration of the mutated sound machines. Viewing them as bodily extensions, the actors focus on listening closely to these machines, understanding their patterns and infrequencies, and finding control over the randomness. Utilising the human bodies as carriers and amplifiers for the sound, the waves flow, collide, pulse, crack, and resonate. The act of connecting is a recurring motif throughout the performance, from the estranged yet alike machine languages, the growing and shrinking distance of the performers, to a final physical touch, breaking the sonic conversation through the intimacy of the bodies.
